Working to Fix the Ohio Redistricting Process

October 26 – November 30, 2023: Petition training at various times.

Over the last three years in Ohio, the process of redrawing the lines for districts of elected officials has resulted in some very gerrymandered districts.

Citizens Not Politicians is a group that is collecting signatures to put an Ohio Constitutional Amendment on the ballot in November 2024. The amendment would establish a citizens’ group to do election redistricting. You can learn more at their website at https://www.citizensnotpoliticians.org/ .

The organization Fair Districts (https://www.fairdistrictsohio.org/) is helping to organize the petition effort to get the amendment on the ballot. There are a number of ways that individuals can assist in the effort. You can express interest in helping at: https://tinyurl.com/Fair-Districts-signup .

If you are interested specifically in circulating petitions to collect signatures, you can sign up, as one Heritage member has, for petition training. This is occurring at various dates and times, as follows:

  • Thurs., Oct. 26, at noon: register here.
  • Wed., Nov. 1, at noon: register here.
  • Thurs., Nov. 2, at 7 p.m.: register here.
  • Tues., Nov. 14, at noon: register here.
  • Tues., Nov. 21, at noon: register here.
  • Mon., Nov. 30, at 6 p.m.: register here.
