I’ll let you in on something that few people know or believe about me. I’m secretly shy and bashful, even though I have often spoken in public in front of large groups and am speaking to you now as editor of the Heirloom. On the Myers-Briggs personality scale, I score a whooping big “I” for introvert. So attending my first HUUC Sunday lunch potluck was a huge challenge for me. It was like my first lunch in high school. Might no one talk to me? Would I eat alone? Much less, I didn’t bring anything to share and was worried about what was appropriate to bring. (I’m not a good cook.)
All those fears were for naught. Join the line in the great hall to fill your plate for the feast right after worship services on Sunday, September 8, 2024 – whether you bring something or not. You will soon be in conversation with someone who could be your new Heritage friend. Since we “mix and mingle,” it is an opportunity to meet new people, even if you have been coming to Heritage for years.
