Ostara Celebration and Potluck

Sunday, March 17 2024, 4:00 p.m., in HUUC’s Outdoor Chapel

On the pagan Wheel of the Year, Ostara marks the first day of spring. While we observe the Spring Equinox on March 19 this year, HUUC Pagans will celebrate Ostara on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Ostara is a celebration of rebirth and of spring. At Spring Equinox, both day and night are equal, creating balance and harmony. We will celebrate the return to the light with song, simple movement, story, as well as old and new rituals.

March 17 is also known as a day to celebrate serpents rather than celebrate the man who attempted to run pagans out of Ireland.

This ritual will take place in the HUUC outdoor chapel, rain or shine. There are some benches, but you may like to bring a chair to sit on. Please wear appropriate shoes. There is a slight slope to get to the outdoor chapel. Some people may prefer to enter from the back parking lot and cross the small bridge into the chapel.

Please wear festive clothes and/or head attire. Noisemakers are very welcome. Bring an altar item if desired.

Bring a contribution for the potluck to follow in the great hall.
