June 1, 2025 Annual Meeting Results and Awards

Among the rights and privileges of Heritage Universalist Unitarian Church membership is full participation in the Annual Meeting, this year held on June 1, 2025. This gathering is more than ritual. What transpires are some mundane but required votes, sometimes heated debates, and some heart-felt honors to those persons who have served our community for so well and so long.

The first order of business was to vote on our new Board of Trustees members, Endowment Committee member, and representatives to the UU Council of Cincinnati. Shown below are the names of those elected and their terms of office.

The Volunteer of the Year award was presented to Barbara Rohrer

Barbara comments,

I am very honored that the board of trustees chose to recognize my efforts as a volunteer on behalf of our congregation this year. In accepting this award, I want to acknowledge the contributions of all of my fellow volunteers, many who serve with diligence and care year after year. The success of our church community is as dependent upon them as much, if not more so, than anything I have done.”

The Booth Lifetime Achievement award was presented to Rebecca Pace.

Rebecca Pace comments,

“I want to thank the members of our congregation who responded to help cover our recent cash crunch.  I’d also like to thank all those people who help with the bank deposit each week–and sometimes miss potluck because of it! I really appreciate the recognition and I’m happy to continue to serve as your Treasurer.”

HUUC Board President Jaime Castle also awarded three Light Keeper Awards to Katie Kpaeyeh, Jen Ciolino, and Susan Conley.
