At the Unitarian Universalist Association’s 2023 General Assembly (GA), delegates cast a vote on an Action of Immediate Witness (AIW) titled “Protect the Dreamers, the Recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival (DACA) with a Pathway to Permanent Residence.” GA delegates voted 98% in favor of the AIW. For background and an understanding of the Dreamers’ situation, you might want to read the text of the AIW.
One part of the AIW is “That the UUA encourages its members to support the Dreamers in their communities and to communicate with their members of Congress to urge them to support legislation protecting the Dreamers.”
The organization Unitarian Universalists for Social Justice has now made it easy to contact our elected officials in Congress and ask for support for a pathway to citizenship for dreamers. Please check out the UUJS Dreams Unite Us page.
