Creativity Corner for November 2024

The November 2024 edition of HUUC’s Heirloom newsletter inaugurates a new feature section – The Creativity Corner. Pieces of original poetry and prose published in this month’s Creativity Corner section were submitted by HUUC congregants (members and friends) on the pre-selected topic of gratitude, in general or especially for HUUC and/or HUUC congregants’ social action/justice activities.

Additional opportunities for HUUC congregants to have their original poetry and prose published in the Heirloom will occur occasionally over the coming months. The precise frequency of this feature section is yet to be determined. Open submissions for original poetry and prose will be announced approximately one month or more prior to the submissions deadline.

Each submission opportunity will have a prescribed creative theme. Such themes may include aspects of nature, seasonal considerations, or other subjects that you suggest to the Heirloom editor. Content length is limited to one page or less.

The Heirloom editor will accept creative writing submissions only during the period between the theme’s announcement and the submission deadline. However, the editor welcomes suggestions for upcoming themes at any time. Send such ideas or creations to Barb Barnes at the following email address:

So, HUUC members and friends, start looking through your journals and files now for your creative writing pieces that you feel merit publishing in the Heirloom. Or, get those ingenious imaginations working on new pieces that will enable you to claim that you are a published author!
