St. John’s UU Church in Clifton is inviting all area UUs to a group discussion of Authentic Selves: Celebrating Trans and Nonbinary People and Their Families. The discussion will take place Saturday morning, March 15, 2025.
Authentic Selves is the UUA Common Read for 2024-2025. It is a collection of narratives, stories of a wide diversity of trans and nonbinary people and those they call family. Get yourself a copy from the UUA bookstore and come share with other UUs what you’ve learned and what surprised you. Both a paperback version and a Kindle eBook version are available on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Authentic-Selves-Celebrating-Nonbinary-Families/dp/1558968962/, or just the paperback version is available at the UUA Bookstore at https://www.uuabookstore.org/Authentic-Selves-P19547.aspx .
Participants will meet at St. John’s UU Church, 320 Resor Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45220-1698. The meeting will take place in person in the church’s Krolfifer Hall on Saturday morning, March 15, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
The organizer of this gathering has said, “Maybe the words from the Inaugural address about our new government policy that there ‘are only two genders: male and female’ have made you want to know more about trans and nonbinary people. Bring your copy of the book, even if you’ve only partially finished it, and come with an open mind, prepared to help us all grow together in understanding.”
