“Faithful Defiance — Love, Courage, and the Soul of Democracy”

    Sunday Worship, November 16, 2025 at 10:30 a.m.

Rev. Bill Lyon leads this service along with members of the Democracy Resolution Team.

In a time of division and uncertainty, how do people of faith respond with courage and compassion — without losing sight of love?

Join us this Sunday as we explore what it means to practice faithful defiance: to rise together in covenant and in hope, affirming the values that sustain our shared humanity.

We’ll lift up a new congregational resolution, “For Faithful Defiance of Authoritarianism,” as a living expression of our Unitarian Universalist principles.

Through reflection, music, and the voices of those who helped shape this work, we’ll celebrate the power of community to heal and to lead with love.

All are welcome. Come as you are — bring your doubts, your dreams, and your courage.

Sharing Our Abundance: Since January 2017, Heritage UU Church has been giving away all of the plate offering every Sunday to a worthy non-profit organization working to help change the world in alignment with our values. You can give in the plate on Sunday, or learn more and donate using the link provided each week.

  • Sharing Our Abundance for November 9, 2025

On November 9, 2025, we share our abundance with Inter Parish Ministry (IPM)—a vital partner in our wider community. IPM works to address food insecurity while transforming the traditional food pantry into a place of dignity and empowerment.

Right now, demand for food assistance is soaring in Greater Cincinnati—driven by the ongoing government shutdown and the expiration of key SNAP benefits. More neighbors are struggling to put food on their own tables.

In the spirit of The Potluck Called Community, let’s extend our table beyond our walls. Your generosity this Sunday helps IPM meet people where they are—feeding families in need, offering hope, and reminding our community that abundance grows when we share.

Heritage is a Unitarian Universalist church that encourages each person to search for their own understanding of truth and meaning, and does not tell you what to believe. What holds us together is a sense of community and shared principles.
