UU the Vote is an effort to organize nonpartisan action in order to bring Unitarian Universalist values to bear on elections.
This will be our third Heritage meeting for UU the Vote. One main question will be whether to continue as one overall group or to organize ourselves as several smaller initiatives. Ideas we have discussed so far include:
Making sure that everyone at Heritage is registered to vote.
Holding a “Souls to the Polls” event for Heritage.
Providing childcare on election day, to facilitate parents voting.
Joining with other organizations that are involved in larger efforts, such as registering voters in underrepresented areas and combating voter-suppression efforts.
Attendance at either of the prior UU the Vote meetings is not necessary. Childcare is not provided for this meeting.
