This is the second year that the Board has held a series of Town Hall meetings to bring visibility to the opportunities facing the church and to create a space for voices to be heard throughout the annual church calendar. We had a history of Annual Meetings when issues were raised so late in the process that they were difficult to address under the deadline of approval of our budget and without the time to explore these important needs.
Through the input of our volunteer teams and our previous Town Hall meeting, we received feedback that helped the Board understand the most important funding initiatives for the congregation. After the results of this current stewardship campaign are in, we’ll have a better understanding how many of these wishes we can afford. Unfortunately, we often have to make some tough choices. Our next Town Hall in May is an important time for us to review our priorities as a congregation, so we can adjust our proposed budget prior to our Annual Meeting.
Prior to our Town Hall meeting in May, the Board will work with Reid Hester and the Finance Committee to align on our proposed budget for next year. The primary topic of this gathering will be to review this proposal in detail and gather feedback. As with all Town Hall meetings, we will also be open to discussing other topics that are brought to the group. We appreciate your time to join and hear each other so that we stay better connected as a community. Hope that you will join this important Town Hall via Zoom on Sunday, May 16th at 1:30. A link to the Zoom meeting will be on the huuc.net homepage by the 16th.
