Heritage’s Babes with Books (or BWB, the women’s book club) has developed several traditions over the years. In December we observe the tradition of not reading/discussing a novel but throwing a movie party in the Heritage room. Come, even if you’ve never or rarely come, at 6:30 p.m., December 18, in festive regalia with snacks to share. We will screen a film, starting at 7:00 p.m. This year’s selection is Blinded by the Light.
According to an Amazon.com 5-star review, “This film is so wonderful and so light-hearted and will leave you feeling really good afterwards. And it’s not just about Bruce (Springsteen). It’s about a young man in Luton, England who is Pakistani finding his voice and becoming inspired to write even more once he hears Bruce’s lyrics.”
Starting in January, our regular, third-Wednesday-of-the-month, 7 to 9 p.m. meetings return with the following selections:
January 15 – A Gentleman in Moscow, by Amor Towles.
February 19 – Where the Crawdads Sing, by Delia Owens.
March 18 – American Duchess, by Karen Harper.
Get the January selection early, as it is a lengthy but easy read. Unless otherwise noted, all selections are held for us at the Anderson Township public library. All women members and friends are invited to all BWB gatherings, whether or not they have read the selected book or supply a snack.
