Please join us for this year’s fundraising event – The Intergalactic Gala! This event is for ALL AGES! Members and Friends are invited to beam down dressed in all manner of spacey-wacey ensembles. Inspired by Star Trek and/or Wars? Doctor Who and/or Dr. Bones? Or perhaps a costumed creature of your own conception? ALL earthlings and extraterrestrials are welcome here!
Terrestrial tunes performed on gongs will ease you into the vibe of the void, followed by an interplanetary playlist. Master Menu Maker Garry Wilson will be providing a “These are Nacho Droids You’re Looking For” Taco/Burrito Bar (WITHOUT the use of a food replicator)!
Cosmic Crafts and Cinematics will be available for younglings of all ages! And be sure to brush up on your space facts for a trivia contest! Thane Thompson will be teleporting from his homeworld to emcee the live auction, which will include favorite traditional items as well as a universe of new prizes! In addition to the live portion, there will be clipboards hanging throughout the ~space with other items to bid on.
As with last year, we would like to focus on only certain items to be offered (see list below). Other items, like jewelry, household items, and furniture, do keep in mind to donate but not at this event. A separate event held in conjunction with the local online auction company – Everything But The House (https://www.ebth.com) will occur after this party where we will all pool our items together to offer to an audience of more than 1 million monthly shoppers.
New for this year’s Gala! We are asking existing groups within Heritage to pool their resources to create themed baskets to donate for auction. Maybe Babes with Books can donate a book basket? Maybe there’s a craft group that could donate a crafting basket? Think Movie Night Basket in a popcorn tin with DVDs, candy, popcorn & drinks! Or maybe a Pet Basket with gift certificates, chew toys and dog shampoo in a dog bed! Or a Car Care basket with sponges, wax and soap in a bucket! Get together with your committee comrades or choir companions to generate your own creation for donation.
Additional traditional items we are requesting:
- Wine Bottles in the amount of $15 and up.
- Gift Certificates in the amount of $25 and up.
- Food Items. Have items ready or offer to bake or cook at a future time.
- Personal Services. Do you have a skill or service that you can offer to do or teach?
- Experiences. Think hosted parties and dinners or themed events (teach a hobby or skill). Tours, treks, adventures, tickets to events or games, vacation getaways!
