In this poignant, heartfelt service, our Senior Minister reflects on the ravages of cognitive decline. These days, few families are unaffected by tragic diseases such as Alzheimer’s. Rev. Bill will speak from personal experience in his own family, and will also remind us that many in our own church community are struggling with cognitive challenges. Our congregational covenant speaks of love, it speaks of truth, it speaks of service. How might we serve one another in love, even in the most difficult of times, even when the truth is too hard to acknowledge? This morning’s service title comes from the beautiful, powerful Alzheimer’s anthem “The Long Goodbye,” which our Music Director, Les Tacy, will perform for us.
