Isabel Call
Around us, the whitewater of clashing realities challenges our efforts to move forward as a nation. But December is ordinarily a time for stillness. At the end of an extraordinarily tumultuous year, we make an extra intentional effort to pause. Witnessing Thich Nhat Hanh’s miracles of mindfulness alongside the art of team rowing, we find stillness in the movement toward collective liberation.
Dr. Isabel Call is the Assistant Minister of Pastoral Care at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbus. A lifelong UU originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, she was welcomed into fellowship as a UU minister this fall. Isabel describes herself as a Community Economist: a spiritual leader who holds worthiness, rather than scarcity, as the motivating principle.
