As part of the worship service on the first Sunday in August 2015, Rev. Bill Gupton was treated to a slide show of what the congregation did during the six months he was away on sabbatical. The next Sunday, Rev. Bill returned the favor with a slide show of his own.
Rev. Bill writes: “The slide shows were wonderful! What a perfect way to capture a sense of the vibrant, loving community for a moment (well, six months) in time. There has been some discussion (and I completely agree!) that we should actively encourage people not to put those cameras away! Now that documenting church life regularly through photo-taking is part of the HUUC culture, I hope we will keep snapping those pics, and make it a tradition each spring to collect them in a photo collage similar to the one from Sunday, that will document and remind us of all the great things we did during the church year. It could become an annual tradition on Annual Meeting Sunday to show the pics from that past church year as a celebration and wrap up. . . . Thanks again for the wonderful photo gift!”
We’ve set up a place for you to send your pictures. Please send pictures of any aspect of church life to:
We don’t yet have a volunteer yet to organize the next slideshow. If you are interested, or have any questions, please contact Bill Gupton.
