Heritage’s Babes with Books (aka the BWB or women’s book club) is on a roll with another great read for the next gathering. Our February 19 meeting (7 – 9 p.m. in the Heritage Room) will discuss Where the Crawdads Sing, by Delia Owens. This New York Times bestseller is described by the New York Times book review as “A painfully beautiful first novel that is at once a murder mystery, a coming-of-age narrative and a celebration of nature…. Owens here surveys the desolate marshlands of the North Carolina coast through the eyes of an abandoned child. And in her isolation that child makes us open our own eyes to the secret wonders—and dangers—of her private world.” BWB members who have read it concur, it is a “good read.”
Please bring ideas for future reads to the February 19 meeting as we have only the March 18 meeting selection, American Duchess, by Karen Harper, on the future reads schedule. Please assure that your potential read has sufficient available copies (10 +) in the Hamilton County library system for us to place on hold for our group at the Anderson Township branch. As always, all women members and friends are invited to all BWB gatherings, whether or not they have read the selected book.
