Not e-mail, not tweets, but real communication and engagement! Mystery Friends is a program that builds bridges between generations in our church. Children and adults are matched in pairs and exchange letters for five weeks. All participants are assigned a code name to use when sending and receiving their letters to keep everyone’s identity a mystery!
Each week adults and children place secret messages – perhaps with drawings, stickers, or other decorations – in a special mailbox at church. These messages contain clues about themselves and everyone uses the clues to guess the identity of their mystery friend. (If you miss being at church on a Sunday, Rev. Leslie can facilitate letter exchanges.)
At the end of five weeks, everyone is invited to meet their Mystery Friend face-to-face at a potluck breakfast at church.
Sign-up sheets at church will be available now through February 9th. Rev. Leslie will match adults with children and send detailed instructions to parent/guardians and adults. Letter exchanges will take place Feb. 16th through March 15th and our potluck breakfast is scheduled for March 22th.
Sign up and make a new friend through Mystery Friends!
