The weather and temperatures may have finally caught up to the calendar but the Babes with Books, Heritage’s women’s book club, will be discussing lilacs or at least Lilac Girls, by Martha Hall Kelly, during their November 20 meeting. A review on Amazon.com describes this holocaust novel as, “Inspired by actual events and real people, Martha Hall Kelly has woven together the stories of three women during World War II that reveal the bravery, cowardice, and cruelty of those days. This is a part of history—women’s history—that should never be forgotten.”—Lisa See, New York Times bestselling author of China Dolls.
Please join us, Wednesday, November 20 for this discussion – 7 to 9 p.m. in the Heritage room. Having read or even liked the selection is never required. Please also bring ideas for the December movie party selection.
Currently selected future reads for upcoming meeting dates, always subject to change, are as follows:
- December 18: A party, no book – movie to be selected November 20.
- January 15: A Gentleman in Moscow, by Amor Towles.
- February 19: Where the Crawdads Sing, by Delia Owen.
All selections are held for us at the Anderson library the month prior to our meeting, unless otherwise announced. All women congregants and friends are invited to all gatherings. Child care is not available. For more information contact Barb Barnes at:
