Saturday, November 2, 2019, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
How can a person be a better ally to people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or transgender?
Some Heritage UU Church members have developed a workshop addressing this area of personal growth. The main topics are:
- values and privilege,
- terminology and language,
- what science tells us,
- what LGBT+ folks experience,
- avoiding unintended hurt,
- changing minds and hearts, and
- becoming an upstander (as opposed to a bystander).
The workshop will take place at Heritage UU Church on Saturday, November 2, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Morning coffee and snacks at breaks will be provided. Participants should bring their own brown-bag lunch (which they can store in the refrigerator or freezer and warm up in the microwave, if needed).
The workshop is open to all adult Heritage Church members and friends, as well as to Heritage high school youth who have parent/guardian permission.
