Would you consider “leaving a legacy” to Heritage Church? That legacy could be in the form of a bequest in your will or trust, naming Heritage as a beneficiary in your retirement account or life insurance policy, along with several other methods of planned giving. Making that pledge before June 30, 2020 may generate a match of 10% of the estimated value of that gift through a Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) program called Wake Now Our Vision Legacy Challenge.
The Wake Now Our Vision Legacy Challenge Campaign is a joint effort of the following UU institutions: the Unitarian Universalist Association, the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, Meadville Lombard Theological School, Starr King School for the Ministry, the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association, and the Church of the Larger Fellowship. Gifts can be made to support these UUA institutions or to local congregations such as Heritage.
Over the next several months, you will be hearing more about planned giving and how Heritage Church might benefit for your generosity in a legacy gift. There are already over a dozen members who have named Heritage in their wills or as a beneficiary of their retirement program or life insurance.
For more information about planned giving to Heritage, contact Endowment Committee member Neal Watzman. For specifics about your situation, contact your financial or legal advisor.
