As we begin to use our lovely outdoor spaces at Heritage Church this fall (think the labyrinth, the Outdoor Chapel, the Memorial Garden, the playground, the woods and more), we are aware that our grounds are in need of a helping hand (or two).
Volunteers of all ages are invited to the church on Saturday, September 18, to have fun together, outdoors, and to help make our sacred space all the more beautiful. There will be tasks for everyone – weeding, trimming, raking, sweeping, mowing, pruning, even power tool usage for the bravest among us. Volunteers are needed to play with the youngest! Arrive at 10 a.m. for a somber ceremony as we say goodbye, by necessity, to a couple of our award-winning trees that have become ill and cannot be saved. Crews will be working from 10 o’clock until 2 o’clock.
Families, couples, singles – all are welcome to participate and experience community together. It takes a village. Bring work gloves and clothes that can get dirty. Bring a bottle or two of water. Lunch will be provided. Feel free as well to bring any tools you might prefer; however, the church should be able to provide any tools that may be necessary.
But most of all – bring yourself, and your loved ones. We look forward to seeing you there!
