We at Heritage Universalist Unitarian Church often use the phrase, “Celebrate Life, Create Community, Seek Justice,” to describe succinctly why we are here. The third part of this comes from Unitarian Universalism’s long tradition of being a religion of “Deeds, not creeds.” We work to alleviate the suffering in the world, and we work to bring about change in society and law such that there is less cause for suffering in the first place. As stated in the congregation’s Mission and Vision statement, we seek to bring about a world that is “infused with the values that are the special aspirations of our faith.”
