On Wednesday evening, April 25, Heritage Acres Memorial Sanctuary offers to the Cincinnati community a very special opportunity – a one-night-only screening of the heartfelt, award-winning documentary “In the Parlor,” with a guest appearance by director Heidi Boucher. Join us at the Esquire Theatre to support Heritage Acres, enjoy an amazing film, and meet its writer and director. The movie begins at 7 p.m., and the cost is $10 (tickets at the door only), with all proceeds benefitting Heritage Acres, our green burial project.
“In the Parlor” tells the moving, intimate story of three very different families as they navigate the death of a loved one and find comfort and healing in the timeless human community practice of caring for that loved one, in their own home – not in a funeral home. Beautifully filmed and quietly powerful, it offers a glimpse into “home funerals” and, perhaps more importantly, into how they help families to grieve appropriately, honor the memory of their departed loved one, and step into the spiritual space that is a deep appreciation for the natural cycle of life and death.
Boucher, who conceived, wrote, and directed “In the Parlor,” will be present at the Esquire to introduce the film (along with our own Rev. Bill Gupton), and will be available to answer questions and meet moviegoers afterward.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity, Cincinnati’s only in-theater showing of “In the Parlor,” April 25 at the Esquire Theatre in Clifton.
