You might have noticed some slight changes to our worship format this fall! We’re working on helping children and youth become active participants and feel more a part of our Sunday morning worship services. Here is our monthly plan (subject to change over the holidays):
1st Sunday — children stay in the service to participate in Candles of Community.
2nd Sunday — Rev. Leslie invites the children forward for a Time for All Ages.
3rd Sunday — Rev. Bill invites the children forward for a Conversation.
4th Sunday — a volunteer presents a Time for All Ages.
Did that last one catch your eye? Yes! We are recruiting a small team of members who would like to present the Time for All Ages on the fourth (and perhaps fifth) Sunday of each month. Contact Rev. Leslie if you’d like to participate.
In addition, every week one of the children who completed our Chalice Child program last year is invited forward to light our chalice. (If you have a 2nd or 3rd grader in your household, watch for our next Chalice Child program in late spring 2018.) And you might see more opportunities for children/youth to provide special music in the near future.
At Heritage children are seen, and heard, and LOVED!
