Children in all religious education classes, Preschool through Junior High, are invited to our Take Apart Party during today’s RE Community Day. Children and youth learn how things are put together by taking things apart! This annual event features hands-on dismantling of donated small appliances that are broken or obsolete.

Youth will discuss last week’s visit to the Islamic Center and learn about contemporary issues in Islam.
Senior High Youth Group
The senior high youth will meet at Heritage from noon to 2:00 p.m. After lunch they will begin planning their upcoming worship service scheduled for May 3rd.

Youth will hear the story of Muhammad’s life and learn about the Five Pillars of Islam.

Building Bridges: #19 Atheism
Youth will explore the ideas in atheism and agnosticism, focusing on the connection between these beliefs and Unitarian Universalism and the social or political values they share.

Junior High RE Class
Building Bridges: Visit to Hindu Temple
Our youth will visit the Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati to meet with Chief Priest Kailash Sharma for a tour and discussion beginning at 9:30 a.m. Meet at Heritage to carpool/caravan at 9:00 a.m. Youth should be returning to Heritage around 11:35 a.m.
High School Youth Group
The senior high youth will meet at Heritage from noon to 2:00 p.m. After lunch they’ll discuss the upcoming food drive at Kroger in Anderson.
Youth will discuss the contemporary Evangelical Christianity Movement. They’ll explore the concept of being born again, consider the popularity of fundamentalist beliefs and Evangelical worship in the U.S. today. They also will begin creating UU faith-based responses to Evangelical expressions they might encounter in politics, culture and their own lives.

Building Bridges: Visit to Catholic Church
Our youth will attend the 9:30 a.m. service at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Beechmont Avenue. Please meet at the church no later than 8:45 a.m. Our caravan will leave at 9 a.m. and return to HUUC around 11:30 a.m.
Senior High Youth Group — no meeting today
Several HUUC youth are returning from CONartist at the Birmingham Unitarian Church in Michigan. CONartist is a district-wide, art-themed UU youth conference which will include visual, musical and literary workshops.
