Amazon.com describes this month’s Heritage Women’s Book Club novel as a perfect book club selection. The review of Kim Michele Richardson’s work continues with “Inspired by the true, blue-skinned people of Kentucky and the brave and dedicated Kentucky Pack Horse Library Service of the 1930s, The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek is a story of raw courage, fierce strength, and one woman’s belief that books can carry us anywhere—even back home.” The book club (known as the Babes with Books or BWB) will discuss this novel (and undoubtedly many other, unrelated things) during their August 17 meeting, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Heritage Room.
Our future reading selections are as follows, subject to change a month prior to the meeting date:
September 21 – Wish You Were Here, by Jodi Picoult
October 19 – Three Words for Goodbye, by Hazel Gaynor & Heather Webb
November 16 – Search, by Michelle Huneven
December 21 – holiday party and film – yet to be determined
January 18 – The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles
All women (be they members or friends) are always invited to any BWB meeting – whether they have read the book or not. Unless otherwise announced, the meeting’s selection is available on hold for the Heritage Book Club at the Anderson Township branch of the Hamilton County library approximately a month in advance.
For inclusion in the BWB Google group emails, contact the Heritage office.
