Financial Reports were reviewed. Pledges are on target, and the Spring Auction earned an amount close to what was budgeted for the year.
DLFD Report- Laci’s report was reviewed, and Laci shared about summer plans at HUUC. The theme for the summer is “A Summer of Love”, and there will be a Church Camp called “Peace Camp” held at the end of the summer.
The Senior Minister’s Report- Bill shared details from his report with the Board, which focused on a review of challenges from the past year.
The Board approved the formation of a new Church Administrator Search Committee. The committee consists of Julie Kane, Luke Walczewski, Rebecca Pace, Susan Conley, and is chaired by Bill Gupton. The Board approved a spend of up to $500 for the purpose of finding a new church administrator.
COVID-19 Policy Update- Due to increased numbers of COVID cases in Ohio, the Board wanted to place an emphasis on encouraging people to use masks indoors. The Board voted to re-word some language in the current policy with more encouragement of masking, to read: “We strongly request the use of masks in indoor spaces to protect our most vulnerable and our children without access to vaccines”.
The fundraiser brought in over $7,500 for HUUC, which just about covered the $8,000 that was budgeted for fundraising in the current fiscal year. The Board discussed learnings from this year’s fundraiser, and will apply the learnings to the coming year’s fundraising efforts.
There is a Church Active Shooter Training on June 25th – To date, there is 1 possible volunteer, and there is a need to find more people interested in attending the training.
