First off, the Babes with Books (BWB) again send thanks to Donna Buckley and Tracy Rossa for hosting our summer pool parties and to Kathy Wade who provided the unique author’s viewpoint from her novel Perfection, discussed at the September meeting. The BWB, Heritage’s women’s book club, ends its streak of non-traditional meetings in October with a conventional meeting (October 17, 7 – 9 p.m. in the Heritage Room) discussing Carrying Albert Home: The Somewhat True Story of a Woman, a Husband, and her Alligator, by Homer Hickam. According to Amazon, “Big Fish meets The Notebook in this emotionally evocative story about a man, a woman, and an alligator that is a moving tribute to love.”
The current schedule of future meetings is as follows:
- November 21: A Confederacy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Toole.
- December 19: Holiday party – Movie: Finding Your Feet.
- January 16: Americanah, by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche.
- February 20: The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy, by Rachel Joyce.
All meetings are from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Heritage Room unless otherwise announced. All women and friends of Heritage Church are invited, whether or not they have read or even liked the month’s selection.
