As a result of the ever-changing HUUC COVID policies, the Babes with Books (or BWB, the Heritage’s women’s book club) will ditch the Zoom, ditch the masks (if fully vaccinated), and meet indoors in the Heritage Room for their July 21, 7-9 p.m. meeting. (Hallelujah! Here comes normality again! But keep an eye out for any possible changes.) The selected novel to discuss is set in Degas’ Paris. The Washington Post describes The Painted Girls, by Cathy Marie Buchanan, as “A captivating story of fate, tarnished ambition, and the ultimate triumph of sister-love.”
Our future reads and meeting dates currently consist of:
- August 18 – The Water Dancer, by Ta-Nehisi Coates
- September 15 – News of the World, by Paulette Jiles
All women, members or friends, are always invited to any BWB meeting – whether they have read the book or not.
