The Heritage Woman’s book club (otherwise known as the Babes with Books or BWB) has chosen the multiple award-winning novel entitled The Round House, by Louise Erdrich, as their April 19 meeting selection. The plot begins in the spring of 1988 when a woman on an Ojibwe reservation is attacked, causing her 13-year-old son’s life to be irrevocably transformed. Multiple, raving reviews suggest this book is likely to be dubbed the Native American To Kill a Mockingbird.
The BWB’s reading future selections and meeting dates are as follows:
May 17 – The Two Mrs. Carlyles, by Suzanne Rindell (start this one early since limited copies available through the local libraries for this semi-long novel)
June 21 – Transcendent Kingdom, by Yaa Gyasi
July 19 – Lessons in Chemistry, by Bonnie Gamus
All meetings are held from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Heritage Room, unless otherwise announced.
All women (be they members, or friends) are always invited to any BWB meeting – whether they have read the book or not. Unless otherwise announced, the meeting’s book selection is available on hold for the Heritage Book Club at the Anderson Township branch of the Hamilton County library approximately a month in advance.
