Can you remember the fourth UU principle by heart? No, well then maybe it is time to consider making time in your schedule this fall to exercise “A free and responsible search for truth and meaning” with two Adult Religious Education (ARE) offerings.
Fall seems like ages away when we have just started summer, so this announcement intends merely to spark some interest for two new and exciting offerings. Beginning Sunday evening, September 17, a monthly, four-session discussion series entitled Topics in Wisdom will address the definition of wisdom, character, judgment (can we live without it?), and several other related topics. This series requires a minimum of six participants to occur, so please contact Barb Barnes for more details if you are possibly interested.
The evening of Friday October 13, we will host a guest lecturer with the presentation “Jesus and the Werewolf, It’s Complicated.” This entertaining, outrageous, and perhaps blasphemous presentation is just the ticket for avowed heretics. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of why Christianity took hold so firmly in Europe but not so strongly in its Middle East birthplace.
For more information on these offerings, please contact Barb Barnes. More details also to follow in next month’s Heirloom.
