Preschool: Chalice Children Session 36 Earth Day Our preschoolers will celebrate Earth Day with an outdoor treasure hunt looking for nature’s interesting plants, animals, rocks and more. The children will share what they know about taking care of the earth.
Kindergarten/1st grade, Creating Home Session 11: Bless this Meal
In today’s session our children will be making table tents to take home. One side of the table tent features a grace or table blessings. We’ll discuss how grace can be both a blessing and a way to express thanks.
2nd/3rd grade, Moral Tales Session 11: Do No Harm
Children will talk about the importance of making choices that bring peace and do not harm others. We’ll also make “WWUUD” bracelets. These initials stand for the question “What would a Unitarian Universalist do?” as a reminder to make choices that reflect our UU values.
4th/5th grade, Sing to the Power Session 10: The Power of Passion
The children will hear the true story of the Salwen family who, at the urging of their teenage daughter, sold their mansion, bought a smaller house with half the proceeds and donated the other half to an organization the family chose together with great care and deliberation. They will focus on finding and choosing an organization that they feel passionate enough about supporting to ask our congregation to support them through our Sunday offering.
