Get ready everyone …. We have a really exciting and busy spring coming up!
I wrote in my past two articles about our decision to add two new part time positions to our proposed budget. I want to emphasize how excited the Board and the Committee on Ministry are about this prospect. We are proposing a Building Caretaker at 10 hours/week and a Member Services Coordinator at 15 hours/week. We see the benefit of these positions as serving our members and helping to strengthen and deepen our relationships. There is a separate article in this Heirloom that goes into more detail about this initiative.
You should soon receive your Stewardship packet with the information needed to make your financial pledge to support our church home. Remember that your pledge is not just a monetary contribution to your church, it’s joining with others to support our spiritual home. Please plan to drop it off at church any time during the day of March Money Madness – Saturday, March 17. Then plan to stay and enjoy the festivities for the whole family!
April 21st will bring our Gala of Benevolent Deities which promises to be an extraordinary evening. This gala is reimagining our annual auction – so you will still be able to offer and bid on your favorites. I really don’t think you’ll want to miss this one! May 5th will be our plant sale and more details will be forthcoming for our “Everything but the House” auction.
I want to reassure everyone that we are still taking our safety and security very seriously. We have a team in place that is meeting and establishing procedures and trainings. The Sheriff’s office is implementing a Church Watch program – modeled after the Neighborhood Watch program. We attended the initial meetings and will keep you updated. Details regarding trainings, drills, etc. will be coming soon.
Remember to be on the lookout for emails switching all our group emails from Yahoo Groups to Google Groups.
As always, please feel free to talk with any member of the Board if you have any questions or comments.
