Mid-winter blahhhs are here. But amidst the cold gray of winter – every once in awhile there is a beautiful sunny day and warmer temperatures. Actually, I love the snow too. It’s all good. It’s a busy time of behind the scenes planning for our church. There will be a lot going on in the coming months. Our sanctuary has been quite full as we gratefully welcome everyone. There is a separate article this month about some changes to make our sanctuary more comfortable for our growing numbers. The Board is looking at some other ideas to address this wonderful issue and will share details and seek feedback soon.
I sent an all HUUC email regarding our decision to change our email groups from Yahoo to Google groups. Yahoo is no longer maintaining or supporting its group email platform – so changing to Google groups is the easiest and most cost-effective solution. Be on the lookout for email invitations to these Google groups.
We are drafting our budget for the next fiscal year that will be voted upon at our Annual meeting June 3. As I mentioned last month, we will be adding two much needed part-time positions to this budget – Membership Professional and Church Sexton. Please feel free to talk with anyone on the Board with any questions.
Remember how much fun last year’s March Money Madness added to our Annual Pledge Drive? It was such a success on many levels. Mark your calendars for this year – Saturday, March 17. Remember that your pledge is not just a monetary contribution to your church, it’s joining with others to support our spiritual home.
April 21st will bring our Gala of Benevolent Deities event, which promises to be an extraordinary evening. I really don’t think you’ll want to miss this one! And look for more details for our Spring “Everything but the House” auction and plant sale.
Enjoy and rest up during these winter months – and get ready for an exciting Spring at Heritage. Oh….and stay warm too!
