Saturday, April 14, at 3:00 p.m.
In April, Netflix is releasing “Come Sunday,” a film based on the real-life story of Bishop Carlton Pearson, the Tulsa, Okla., Pentecostal preacher whose evolving faith eventually led him to become a Universalist – and ultimately affiliated with All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa. Academy Award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor (“12 Years a Slave”) stars in the title role as Carlton Pearson.
There will be two opportunities at Heritage to see and discuss this timely, groundbreaking movie on the weekend of its release. Join us on Friday night, April 13, at 7 p.m., and/or on Saturday afternoon, April 14, at 3 p.m., as we watch “Come Sunday” and then discuss its relevance to our own UU faith, and our personal faith journeys.
