Friday, May 25, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 27, at 10:30 a.m.
Our monthly Death Positive Film Series returns on the last Friday night of the month, May 25, with a moving and powerfully honest new Netflix documentary titled “End Game.” All are invited to gather with open hearts and minds at 7 p.m. in the Heritage Room as we watch the film (which is shorter than a full-length movie) and then discuss what we have seen and experienced. “End Game” focuses on the work of the Zen Hospice Project in California, and features terminally ill patients and their families who, “facing an inevitable outcome … meet extraordinary medical practitioners seeking to change our approach to life and death.”
Later that same weekend, on Memorial Day Sunday, Rev. Bill Gupton will offer a reflection titled “Memento Mori” – the Latin phrase meaning “remember that you will die.” What better time than Memorial Day weekend, when we honor deceased heroes of all kinds, to reflect on the reality of our own mortality? We hope you will be able to join us.
