Monday, September 17, 2018, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Offsite.
A lot goes on with Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN), the organization that places homeless families in church facilities on a rotating basis to provide temporary shelter. You might have volunteered in the past to be part of Heritage’s IHN team at First Unitarian Church. But there is a lot more to the program than providing Dinners, Activities, and Overnight hosting.
Whether you have volunteered before or are just curious about this program to help the homeless in Cincinnati, you are invited to the IHN Training Evening at the IHN Center. It is not really training, more like learning some new things you never knew before. The event takes place at the IHN Day Center at 990-Nassau Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45206.
The topics planned are:
- Tour of the day center.
- Entrance criteria for the program.
- Services offered at the center.
- What happens to kids during the day?
- What to expect when serving.
- “Assumed trauma.”
- Working and homeless.
- City-wide efforts to impact homelessness.
A light dinner will be served.
