This Unitarian Universalist adult religious education experience is entitled “Jesus and the Werewolf: It’s Complicated.” Subtitled “Fear, Fell Creatures and Medieval Christianity”, this presentation by an ex-Unitarian explores the relationship between werewolves and Jesus. They are theological bookends, Epistemological Third Cousins as it were.
Presenter Len Harding takes a mix of religious history, ruminations on the supernatural inclinations of long-dead people, and imaginative speculation to explore how a religion born-and-bred in Palestine found a good home in Europe. Outrageous, maybe; blasphemous, possibly; dead-on, definitely. A perfect blend for UUs who revel in being heretics!
Show up, learn something, kill time; just don’t kill the presenter. Len was once a professional historian, but moved on to earn a living. Retired now, Len feels that he doesn’t need to make money from history.
