Save the date! On Wednesday evening, April 25, Heritage Acres is sponsoring the Cincinnati movie premiere of “In the Parlor: The Final Goodbye,” at 7 p.m. at the Esquire Theatre in Clifton. Tickets are $10 and will be available only at the door, with all proceeds going to benefit Heritage Acres Memorial Sanctuary.
“In the Parlor” is a documentary by acclaimed filmmaker Heidi Boucher, which lovingly follows three different families as they say their final goodbyes to loved ones by having a “home funeral” – caring for the body and spirit of the departed in their home in the timeless, traditional human way. Boucher will be with us at the Esquire the night of the screening to meet and greet, to talk about the making of the film and answer questions (there will no doubt be many of those!), and to explain the home funeral movement in America.
Our Senior Minister, Rev. Bill Gupton, is a distant relative of Boucher. He chose April 25 for this unique movie event to honor his late mother, who died 20 years ago on that date.
