Since 2013, Heritage has partnered with a group of churches and Cincinnati Habitat to bring the dream of home ownership to reality. This year’s build is off to a late start due to some permitting issues but construction is finally underway on a new home for Tameika Howard and her three children — sons De’Marlyn (17) and De’Aries (14) and daughter Ti’Hanna (8).
The construction site is located at 6003 Sierra Street in Madisonville. You can volunteer any Saturday that is convenient, but the official assigned Saturdays for Heritage are:
- August 25
- September 22 (Heritage is responsible for lunch)
- October 27
- November 24 (Heritage is responsible for lunch)
- December 22
There are jobs/roles for any skill level, no previous construction experience required. For those of you who enjoy construction-related work, this is a great opportunity to learn new skills/techniques from experienced “pros.” For those with little experience there will be people to show you what to do. Youth aged 16 or older are welcome and the site leader can sign off for service hours, if needed.
If you are not interested in construction but want to help out, helping coordinate lunch on our assigned dates, 9/22 and 11/24, is a great way to serve.
