Heritage Church member Louise Lawarre, invites you to the screening and discussion of the documentary film “13th,” which will occur on Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, 8101 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45255.
“13th” examines the loophole’s past and present consequences. It spans the treatment of African Americans as criminal from the end of Reconstruction to the present. It is impossible to understand the reality of mass incarceration without knowing this history. It is a challenging film, best suited for high school students and adults.
This event is free and open to the public. Registration is for planning purposes, and can be made at the bottom half of the event webpage.
