From the March 1, 2015, Worship Service.
Chris Burroughs, chairperson of Heritage’s Labyrinth Arts Festival (LAF), met with the LAF Committee to discuss the immediate future of the event. It was decided that the festival would not be held this October. She explains, “The number of planning hours for the varying components were not in the team’s scope of volunteer hours at this time.” During its three years, LAF welcomed over 1,000 community members and involved nearly 50 fine artists. Chris adds, “Proudly, there were around seven dozen volunteers annually who gave cheerfully of their time and talents for the show. Heritage workers earned the respect and appreciation of the participating artists. Many artisans said they never had so much help and hospitality at any other art show. So—to the team and volunteers, I tip my hat and proclaim that our contribution to the arts community and the general community was well-done. Indeed, well-done!”
