The moneys collected for the sale of Joann Meyer’s hand crocheted dishcloths available in the Great Hall in April and May, have purchased a new clock for the kitchen, a second laundry basket, the sealant needed for caring for our granite counters and we still have a little left over for a future need. Thanks to all for their contributions!
The March Spaghetti Dinner and Talent Show was a big success, raising over $900 for the church’s Music Fund and offering lots of fun and fellowship at the same time.
The Music Committee coordinated the event with generous help from the Choir, who provided the salad bar, desserts and garlic bread. The cooking crew, headed by Mark Buckley and John Epperson, cooked up the spaghetti and tasty sauces, delighting the diners. Over 110 attended, consuming a yummy dinner and enjoying the 17 amazing acts in the talent show.
The talent show performers were:
Bob Booth, Connie Booth, Pete Boylan, Jamie Castle, Frank Collins, Steve Edwards, Reid Hester, Bob Lamb, Amy Lehrer, Erin McCamley, Andrea Mitchell, Cheryl Morton, Jim Nolan, Leah Nolan, Tim Norton, Bob Rush, John Sandman, Robin Skiff, Arleigh Riddle, Heidi Stickney, Riley Stickney, Connor Tunning , Laura Williams, Cori Yaeger-von Birgelen,.
Thanks to everyone who helped in so many ways, not only with the food, but with decorating, setting up, selling tickets, providing entertainment, running sound equipment and all the other myriad of tasks.
Youth who helped: Taylor E, Tess L, Tori L, Jesse N, and Todd S.
We especially thank those who came and cheered for our very talented church folk, thereby offering support for the Music Program at Heritage. Stay tuned: there are murmurings of a repeat next year.
Thanks go to the many musicians who have participated in services so far for the 2014-15 church year. Your contributions are highly appreciated! By involving members and friends who participate musically we bring variety to our worship services. We’ve heard many different musical styles: classical, jazz, rock, country, folk, and even some rap. To quote Albert Schweitzer, famed humanitarian and honorary Unitarian: “Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter—to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way”. Our members and friends, through their musical variety, help to bring these emotions in an interesting and meaningful way.
2014-15 contributors to date have been Anna Beyette, Jill Beyette, Rick Beyette, Bob Booth, Connie Booth, Pete Boylan, Maureen Boylan, Chris Burroughs, Jaime Castle, Madelyn Horton, Amy Leirer, Parker Lindmark, Maya Newmann, Jessie Nolan, Jim Nolan, Leah Nolan, Bob Rush, John Sandman, Mimi Sinclair, Dave Small, Luke Tacy, Michael Tacy, Joelle Tunning, Neal Watzman, Amy Wardwell, Johnny Wettengel, and Chris Zerhusen,. And of course we thank the marvelous singers in our choir!
