The Racial Justice Team will host two evening programs in July. (The first, on Monday, July 17 at 7:00 p.m., will be a powerful film. Watch for details later.)
The second program will be on Monday, July 24, from 7-9:00 p.m. Please join in a book discussion of the incredible book Tears We Cannot Stop: A Sermon to White America, by Georgetown University professor of sociology Dr. Michael Eric Dyson. The book is available at the Cincinnati public library but it is in demand, so there may be a wait for it.
Speaking personally as a white woman, after several years of reading and study, I am aware of how little I know about the history of racism in our country, or the lived reality of people of color today. But I am convinced that without this deep understanding, I cannot fully grasp the demands of this moment in history. Please join me. We can help each other learn. ~ Louise Lawarre (RacialJustice@huuc.net)
