In keeping with the energy of recent Women’s Marches in Washington, Cincinnati, Dayton and other locations, the theme of the Unitarian Universalist Justice Ohio (UUJO) Southwest Ohio Regional Assembly will be “Action Steps To Justice.”
Please reserve the following date, time and location: Saturday, April 22, 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Miami Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 8690 Yankee Street (Washington Township), Dayton, Ohio 45458.
While the event will begin at 9:30 a.m., registration and refreshments will be available at 9:00. Ride sharing will be available from Cincinnati area churches. A light lunch will be provided. There will be no charge for the event, but a free-will offering will be taken to pay for expenses and support UUJO.
This is the tentative plan for the day:
- A state legislator will discuss issues of importance and answer questions.
- Amanda Hoyt of Ohio Faith in Public Life will provide training on how to meet with your state legislator and advocate for justice causes.
- We will have lunchtime updates on justice initiatives in Southwest Ohio, such as Preschool Promise, Sanctuary Congregations and Sanctuary Cities.
- We will meet with others from nearby congregations to make plans for action steps to justice.
