The Caring Circle is working on an idea for making a Caring Quilt to be loaned to Heritage members and friends who are “under the weather.” This idea came from Steph Tacy, who remembered it from her association with Northern Hills Fellowship. We will be putting together a quilt that will be passed around to persons as needed. We want it to be a visual reminder of all the care and concern that surround them from our community.
The quilt will consist of 8 ½ inch hand-decorated muslin squares combined with colorful strips of quilting fabric. We would like to extend the opportunity to contribute a square to this project to everyone in our Heritage community—children, adults, and everyone in between. We may even have enough to make more than one quilt. So, if you would like to be part of this Caring Quilt, please let Carol Deem or Joann Meyer know. They, along with Barb Beezley, Beth Staggenborg, and Ann Raub, will be preparing the squares.
You may submit a drawing, image, or verse on an 8 ½ inch piece of paper in pen, pencil or color. Remember to include your name. Drawings can be put in Joann’s mail box in the office. They will then be transferred to the muslin. We will use special colored markers for the finished product. If you are interested in helping to create the finished quilt—stitching, tracing, coloring, cutting strips, etc.— please let us know. Your offer will be greatly appreciated. We hope to start this project in January. So, enjoy the holidays and we will put our creative minds together for this quilt in 2017!
